Front-line engineering with The Royal Air Force. In an increasingly uncertain world, the Royal Air Force stays alert to the many challenges of war and peace. The effectiveness of its aircraft, communications and defence systems is crucial, ensured by the three roles of an Engineer Officer -military commander, technical manager and professional engineer. As well as experiencing life at one of Britain's leading engineering universities, Headstart students at Loughborough's broad-based course will have an opportunity to see how engineering supports front-line operations in the Royal Air Force. This course will include a visit to an RAF station and students who attend will gain an understanding of the training programme undertaken by Engineer Officers. |
